Skoogs Åkeri & Logistik AB paves the way for green transport with new biogas and solar-equipped truck

In a time when climate change and sustainability are high on the global agenda, the transport industry must be committed to reduce its environmental impact of transportation and meet international emission targets. Skoogs Åkeri & Logistik AB in Sweden has taken a significant step in this direction by introducing a new biogas truck from Volvo, equipped with solar panels from Green Energy.

Efficiency and savings

For a long time, Skoogs has been working to reduce their environmental impact from transport. The company is certified according to ISO 9001, 14001, and 39001, which underscores their commitment to quality, environment, and traffic safety.

“We are constantly working to reduce the environmental impact of transportation through high efficiency. We strive to influence fuel consumption, optimize load filling, use environmentally friendly products, and educate our staff,” says Andreas Seth, Sales and Marketing Manager at Skoogs.

“It was time to invest in a new truck, and we chose a biogas-powered one. We turned to Finnvedens Lastvagnar AB, who delivered the bio-powered Volvo truck promptly. And when we also seized the opportunity to collaborate with Green Energy on solar panels, we knew it was a very exciting project. We have great confidence in their products and hope to install more solar panels on more trucks in the future.” adds Andreas Seth.

Biogas and solar: An eco-friendly duo

The new biogas truck from Volvo is an important step towards a greener future. Biogas as a fuel has zero CO2 emissions when used, making it an attractive solution for reducing the environmental impact of transportation. The solar panels mounted on the trailer provide power for the vehicle’s electrical systems, thus reducing the need for energy from external sources.

This combination of biogas and solar energy means that the truck not only eliminates direct CO2 emissions from its operation but also contributes to meeting the stringent emission targets that many countries and companies have committed to under the Paris Agreement and similar international climate agreements.

The future is green

With this new biogas and solar truck, Skoogs takes an essential step towards a future where the transport industry is part of the solution to climate change. By investing in green technology, they show that economic growth and environmental responsibility can be combined.
