In the Polish office of TIP GROUP, green visions are being realised thanks to the installation of Green Energy’s solar panels
The Polish department of TIP GROUP is based in Wroclaw, the fourth largest city in Poland and one of the leading providers of transport and logistics services. TIP SERVICE has decided to become a company focused on sustainable development. As a result, they decided to install Green Energy’s solar panels on one of the first MAN TGX trucks.
Innovation driven by carbon awareness
TIP GROUP was founded in 1968 and has departments in Europe and Canada. The current fleet consists of more than 120,000 vehicles. More than 800 employees work at 123 locations in 17 countries in Europe and North America. The company and its employees at all locations (including Wroclaw) are aware of their carbon footprint. Although trailers are not directly responsible for CO2 emissions, their design has an impact on the fuel consumption of tractors and lorries, and they deliver goods worldwide.
An ambitious plan for sustainable transport
The company’s goal is to achieve carbon-neutral greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The installation of solar panels at the Polish location is part of the solution to this ambitious plan.
Magdalena Śliwińska, manager of the TIP trailer office in Wrocław, explains, “This great solution will help us generate additional green energy. Our aim is to reduce carbon emissions. When drivers are on the road, they use a lot of energy for parking, air conditioning and other electronics. Thanks to the solar panels, the battery is always fully charged and ready to go. We are excited about the reduced fuel consumption and improved battery condition. After a successful test phase, we plan to install more kits on our vehicles.”
