Nominated for the Danish Construction Industry Climate Awards 2025

We are thrilled that Green Energy Group, in partnership with Areco Profiles A/S, has been nominated for the Energy Award 2025

The Energy Award is one of six categories recognising the best innovations that contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and environmental impact within the construction industry in Denmark. It is part of the Danish Construction Industry’s Climate Awards, sponsored by Danske Byggecentre. This year, we are proud to be among the 21 companies nominated for the Climate Awards, which will be presented at Byggeri 25 in Fredericia from 18 to 21 March 2025.

Palle Thomsen, CEO of Danske Byggecentre, says: “It is important that the construction industry continues to develop and find new ways to reduce its impact on the climate. The nominees are a strong testimony to the responsibility that the industry and its suppliers have taken on”.

This recognition is testament to our commitment to sustainable innovation that is aesthetic, robust and functional. Our solar roof solution is designed to fit seamlessly into any building project, whether it’s a new build or a refurbishment. It provides a sustainable and visually appealing way to harness solar energy while maintaining architectural integrity.

Partnering with Areco Profiles A/S

Our successful collaboration with Areco Profiles A/S has brought these innovative solar-integrated steel roof panels to life. As our main distributor, Areco plays a key role in providing high quality roofing systems and their expertise has been key in ensuring that our solar panels are perfectly integrated into their steel profiles.

Together, we’ve developed a solar roofing solution that combines Areco’s Easy-Click steel profiles with Green Energy’s CIGS solar panels to create a product that appeals to architects, engineers and roofing companies. This solution has been designed to meet the needs of modern construction and renovation projects, offering a sustainable, flexible and architecturally harmonious way to integrate solar energy into any roof. They are ideal for projects that require a durable, more lightweight option.

Only 3 mm thick, Areco’s Green Energy solar panels are easy to handle and install, both on the ground before the roof is installed and directly on the roof. The panels are designed to integrate seamlessly with both the Easy-Clickfals steel roof and the new Pandeplade profile.

Key benefits

  • Sleek Danish Design that integrates seamlessly with the building architecture
  • Best-in-class CIGS solar panels
  • Only 3 mm thick and lightweight (does not require additional construction for load-bearing capacity)
  • Extremely durable and can be walked on without damaging the panels
  • Mounted with a patented adhesive for steel sheets, ensuring no unsightly holes
  • Laminated in a solid 3M laminate for enhanced protection
  • Shade resistant, allowing maximum sunlight absorption

  • 25-year performance guarantee ensuring long-term reliability

Sustainability in action

Green Energy’s CIGS solar panels offer an impressive 10-20% increase in energy production per year compared to traditional crystalline solar panels. This increase in performance is due to the panels’ superior absorption coefficient and ability to capture a wider spectrum of sunlight. As a result, CIGS panels begin generating electricity earlier in the day and continue to produce power well into the evening, providing a more efficient energy solution throughout the day.

In addition to their high energy output, CIGS panels offer remarkable resistance to shading and temperature fluctuations. Even under 10% shading, our panels only lose 10-20% of their output, compared to 60-80% for crystalline panels. This ensures consistent, reliable performance in a wide range of environmental conditions.

Our solar roof solution is designed with sustainability in mind. The panels are made from recycled materials, including components from smartphone screens, contributing to a circular economy and reducing waste. In addition, the panels are designed to have a minimal carbon footprint, making them a sustainable choice for energy generation in both residential and commercial buildings.

Whether you’re working on a large commercial building or a residential project, our steel solar roof solution is the perfect choice.

The Awards will be presented at BYGGERI-messen 18-21 March at Messe C in Fredericia. We’ll be there, so come and visit us at the Areco stand. We look forward to joining our industry colleagues and celebrating all the innovative contributions that are making a difference to the environment and the future of construction.
